K-12 Public Schools

Over 187,200 students are enrolled in the Richmond region’s public schools. The area features magnet and specialty programs, such as the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies and the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for Arts and Technology.​ The region is also home to two high schools ranked in the top 10 in the state and a National Blue Ribbon School.
